This equity-building strategy is designed to disrupt cycles of poverty and address longstanding inequities. By identifying areas of need and leveraging community resources, the program ensures that students are healthy, academically successful, and supported in their social-emotional development.
With a background in school counseling, I am deeply committed to supporting the whole child, ensuring that both academic and emotional needs are met. The Community Schools model at Edwards fosters collaboration with local agencies to strategically allocate resources, focusing on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and family engagement. The dedicated Community Schools team is here to enhance student learning, strengthen families, and build a healthier, more resilient community.
Our priority is to ensure that ALL students have what they need to succeed. We recognize that learning cannot happen unless students’ basic needs are met first. As we transition into a Community School, one of our key goals is to share available resources and services within the community. If your family is in need of additional support or facing unique circumstances, please complete a referral here, and our Community Schools staff will reach out to assist you.
