Dear Parents and Students,

A promotion criterion has been established district-wide to provide minimum requirements for the promotion to high school. Eighth-grade students not meeting the established criteria will be excluded from the promotion ceremony and related activities. The requirements for promotion must be met by the end of each trimester.

Promotion requirements are listed below:

• No more than one F in all academic subjects
• No more than two U Citizenship in all academic subjects
• Must have a 1.5 or higher GPA
• No outstanding fines
• No more than 18 absences

Each trimester, those students who do not meet these requirements will lose an 8th-grade activity.

• 1st Trimester > Promotion Dance
• 2nd Trimester > Knotts Trip
• 3rd Trimester > Promotion Dance, Knotts Trip, and Promotion
